PDTRegister now for this free event!Join us for a webinar presentation and discussion on data trends in discipline disparities from two recent REL studies—REL Northwest’s Suspension and expulsion patterns in six Oregon school districts and REL Mid-Atlantic’s Disproportionality in school discipline: An assessment of trends in Maryland, 2009–12.The studies, undertaken at the request of the Oregon Leadership Network Research Alliance and the Maryland State Department of Education, respectively, examined exclusionary discipline practices (i.e., suspension and expulsion) and whether there are disparities by race, grade level, or special education status. In this webinar, the authors of these studies will share their research findings and engage participants in a discussion about the policy and practice implications of disparities in school discipline. Participants will be invited to share their own experiences and will hear from state and district representatives engaged in efforts to reduce discipline disparities. For more information, visit the REL Northwest site.
